Ample Bass P Lite Free Classic Precision Bass

Ample Bass P Lite (ABPL) is a free virtual instrument based on the legendary Fender Precision Bass.
Designed for modern music production, this lite version offers an extensive range of realistic articulations and introduces a powerful MIDI composition system, making it an essential tool for achieving authentic electric bass tracks.
Core Sound and Sampling
The Lite version includes the Fingerstyle 1 library, delivering a classic and punchy tone. At 560 MB (16-bit), it has been optimized by sharing samples across different string positions by pitch, keeping it lightweight without losing its characteristic sound.
The sampling engine covers essential playing techniques, including Sustain, Hammer On & Pull Off, Legato Slide, Palm Mute, and Accent. Additionally, the Polyphonic Legato and Slide Smoother ensures highly realistic legato transitions across any interval and speed. It also supports drop tuning, allowing the lowest note to reach D1 (standard 4-string range goes from D1 to F4).
Riffer 4: Advanced MIDI Editing
One of the most impressive features of ABPL is Riffer 4, a MIDI editor specifically tailored for plucked string instruments:
- Dual View Modes: It offers seamless real-time switching between Piano Roll and Guitar Tab views, giving you two different perspectives for reviewing and editing your composition.
- String Visualization System: Strings are visualized directly within the Piano Roll. This automatically prevents polyphony on the same string and intelligently assigns fingering, resulting in MIDI that sounds closer to a real performance.
- Intuitive Editing: Easily program fingering, articulations, and expressions without relying on cumbersome key switches or complicated MIDI CC programming.
- MIDI CC and Velocity Editors: View and edit multiple MIDI CC lanes simultaneously with different colors, transparency, and one-click curve presets for expressive automation.
Tab Reader 4
For those who compose using tablature, the Tab Reader 4 supports importing Guitar Pro files (from GP3 to GP8). It can import entire bass tracks directly into the Riffer, retaining all fingering, articulations, and performance data accurately.
Built-In AMP and FX System
ABPL comes with a built-in virtual bass amp system to shape your tone instantly. The Lite version includes 1 classic bass amp head, which can be paired with 4 cabinet options (1×15, 2×10, 4×10, 8×10). Each cabinet supports 4 distinct microphone types: U87, C414, MD421, and SM57. Additionally, the effects section includes an 8-band EQ, Compressor, Delay, and a Convolution Reverb.
