What is Texture Loom?
Texture Loom is a free dual-sample atmosphere engine and instrument plugin developed by S1gns Of L1fe. Initially created as a Max for Live device, it has now expanded to include native VST3 and AU formats. The plugin lets you load two of your own audio samples, blend between them using LFO modulation, and shape the sound through filters and reverb to build generative ambient textures.
Key Features
- Dual-Sample Playback: Load your own custom audio files into dedicated Sample A and Sample B slots.
- Comprehensive Sample Controls: Adjust start/stop, reverse playback, starting position, volume level, pan, and playback rate.
- Rate/Semi Modes: Toggle between continuous speed control or semitone-based pitch adjustment for flexible sample mangling.
- LFO-Modulated Blending: Blend between the two loaded samples using an equal-power A/B control and a dedicated blend LFO for automatic crossfading.
- Multimode Filter: Shape your output using Lowpass, Highpass, Bandpass, Notch, Peak, and Allpass filters with cutoff, resonance, and drive controls.
- Motion LFOs: Dual LFOs with multiple waveforms (Sine, Triangle, Ramp Up/Down, Random, Drift, and Glider) to modulate the filter, blend, space, sample starts, and playback speed.
- Stereo Space Section: An onboard stereo reverb section featuring size, decay, mix, and stereo width controls.
- State Management: Includes an INIT button to quickly return to a blank state, and automatically saves and recalls your sample paths with your projects.
