Orbit sounds really good with a polish that we don’t always see in free instrument plugins

Beat Academy has released Orbit, a free virtual instrument in the form of a VST3 plugin for Windows and macOS. Orbit is another free, sample-based virtual instrument that gives your projects a mature, polished sound.

It’s made with Maize Sampler, so its functionality is a little limited, but the included samples make up for it. Beat Academy is an online music production learning and training platform founded and operated by Grammy-nominated producer Ill Factor.

Orbit was designed by him to create a cool space atmosphere with a deep and dreamy sound. It is currently available for free download.

Orbit has a very simple user interface centered around two main sound modules: Planet A'' andPlanet B”. Yes, the space theme is maintained throughout the plugin, explaining the name Orbit and all the preinstalled names.

This interface features a standard ADSR envelope that allows you to control the amplitude attack, decay, sustain, and release. There are also dedicated controls for chorus, space, filter and gain. In addition to controls for two sound layers, the Orbit interface provides all the basic tools you need to create the sounds you imagine.
