TheMasker Free Frequency Compensation
Master frequency masking with precision
Born from the ingenuity of the Laboratory of Musical Informatics (LIM) of the University of Milan, TheMasker is presented as a revolutionary plugin to combat frequency masking. Inspired by Wavesfactory’s popular Trackspacer, this tool thoroughly analyzes the sidechain signal and applies dynamic EQ adjustments to dramatically eliminate frequency clashes.
TheMasker is designed to enhance the target track within a mix, integrating seamlessly with your DAW and channeling audio to its sidechain input. Its intuitive interface features a spectrum displaying main and sidechain signals in white and yellow, respectively. The Delta sample, highlighted in purple, indicates the affected frequency areas and their decibel settings.
The plugin offers a “Sidechain” knob to control the volume of the sidechain signal, allowing desired frequencies to boost or fade in the soundscape. The “Clear” slider adjusts the bandwidth of the affected frequencies. For added versatility, the AMT (amount) control allows you to mix the effect to your liking, running parallel to the original mix. Additionally, input and output adjustment knobs ensure full control over the final sound.
TheMasker is an essential tool for any producer or audio engineer looking to achieve clear, defined mixes. Its ability to accurately and transparently remove frequency masking makes it an invaluable complement to a wide range of music genres.
