Unlike traditional impulse response (IR) loaders, which are static, this plugin uses the Mikko2 engine to deliver a dynamic and visual experience, allowing guitarists and producers to find their exact tone by moving microphones around in a virtual space.

The Cabinet and Speakers

This free version focuses on a single high-end cabinet: the ML Zilla Custom. It’s a detailed emulation of a Zilla® Custom 2×12 cabinet equipped with Celestion® Vintage 30 speakers. This combination is an industry standard for its ability to deliver defined mids and a punchy response, ideal for genres ranging from classic rock to modern metal.

3D Microphone Control

The most powerful feature of Mikko2 Free is its user interface, where you can manipulate three classic microphones: the Shure™ SM57, the Sennheiser™ MD421, and the Royer™ R121. The plugin allows:

• 3D Positioning: You can move the microphones relative to the speaker, adjusting the distance, angle, and lateral position (from the center to the edge of the cone).
• Microphone Mixing: It includes a mixer to combine the signals from the three microphones, allowing you to create complex textures that would be difficult to achieve with a single IR file.
• Impedance Curves: The plugin allows you to adjust the interaction between the amplifier and the cabinet, a crucial factor for realistic playing feel.

Tonal Sculpting Tools
